FAVs

My Favorite /reads

I thought that it would be nice to share about the most memorable books that I have read. Especially if you are stuck with little to do like I am.... while waiting for GW2!! I have only been seriously reading for the past couple years. My list is not extensive. But thanks to Kindle, every book I have finished has been 3.5-5* (at least for me). Gotta love reading those samples first!!

The list is alphabetical, sorted by *'s. I probably rate half of these higher than more "experienced readers", but whatever, they were all really fun so READ THEM!

5 STARS

Dark Elf Trilogy (first 3 books are my fav) by RA Salvatore - love the character Drizzt, wicked detail in fight scenarios, really unique world setting

DragonLance Chronicles Trilogy & Legends Trilogy: Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis - The Twin trilogy (Legends) is my fav but start with the Chronicles trilogy first: Autumn Twilight (book1), Winter Night(2) and Spring Dawning(3). Then read: Time of the Twins (book1), War of the Twins(2) and Test of the Twins(3)

Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin - z0mg crazy creepy and aww to die for characters, daaaayum that was twisted plot turns and conclusions
Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne - very very funny and witty

Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss - addicting protagonist, can really relate to their successes and failures, excellent magic system

Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks - another unique magic system, very fun and rewarding read

The Crimson Shadow by RA Salvatore - great adventure with a protagonist duo, funny with a little romance

The Hungering Saga by Heath Pfaff and Justin Hernandez - wow very unique combination of magic meets military power meets Frankenstein, graphic gore

The Way of Kings: Stormlight Achieve by Brandon Sanderson - the protagonist storyline is extremely addicting and easy to get emotionally attached to, also love the unique magic system and lore

Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson - LOVE the unique magic system, extremely colorful, 2 girl protagonists!

Wool by Hugh Howie - I picked this up thanks to Syp @BioBreak (see http://biobreak.wordpress.com/2012/01/06/woolgathering/ ). I was taken in after only 10 pages! Excellent MUST read!

Zero Sight series by B. Justin Shier - present world setting is refreshing!, funny and witty, a surprisingly wicked mix of mages and vampires

4.5 STARS

Dragonprince Trilogy by Aaron Pogue - protagonist joins an unexpected partner, really fun, and after reading it is totally what I would expect if dragons were real!

Spellmonger series by Terry Mancour - fun, humorous, sex magic w00t!

Sword of Truth series (only liked 1-4, 6, 9, 10, 11) by Terry Goodkind - my first epic fantasy series, always has special memories to me, love the unique magic of the "confessor", a strong female lead rocks, and the male lead is adorable

3.5 STARS

Advent Mage Cycle series by Honor Raconteur - fairly simple tbh, but entertaining easy read

CURRENTLY READING: Halloween Jack by M. Todd Gallowglas - 50% in and I am very impressed! The magic lore is unique and fun. And you get to see into the minds of demons as you read from their perspective! It's very fun so far.

  1. Nice list there, will have to look into some of those, need some new reading material!

A couple of my favorite series would be the Dragon Lance series by Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman (I also read any spin offs from these, loved them) and The Green Angel Tower series by Tad Williams. The Wheel of Time is another good series.

    1. Thanks! I am always looking for more new material too. Oh I forgot that I have written down dragon lance legends too! I liked them alot. Esp the twins books.

I might have to give WoT another try. I had checked it out when I first started reading and found it... for lack of a better word, "too wordy" lol. No that I've been reading for a few years I should give it another shot. And Brandon Sanderson is one of my FAV authors so I really wanna read his ending books at least. Wonder if I can skip any of the WoT books lol?

And I'll check out the Green Angel Series, thanks!
